Ferric chloride in solution is obtained by means of the reaction of iron ore with hydrochloric acid and chlorine.

Ferric chloride hexahydrate is produced from the iron scrap and also using hydrochloric acid and chlorine.

Presentation
Ferric chloride is commercialized in two forms:
a. 40 - 42 % solution.
b. 60% solid hexahydrate.
Domestic Dispatch (in Peru)
Ferric chloride in solution is sold in two ways:
a. In bulk, in fiber glass coated cistern trucks, with an approximate capacity of 18MT.
b.

In smaller plastic or PVC containers.

Ferric chloride hexahydrate is sold in polypropylene sacks of approximately 25 kg. with a polyethylene bag inside.

Export Shipping

The 42% ferric chloride solution is sold in plastic containers with a capacity of 55 gallons each.

Ferric chloride hexahydrate is sold in polypropylene sacks of approximately 25 kg. with a polyethylene bag inside.

Viscous solution, dark amber in color. The solid is yellowish orange.

The solution has a specific gravity of 1.43 g/ml, while the solid has 1.69 g/ml.

Ferric chloride is soluble in ethanol, acetone, glycerin and benzene, as well as in water in all proportions.
